Love Her Wild, by Atticus

I was enraged when I saw some people’s responses to Atticus’ Love Her Wild poetry collection on Goodreads. 1 star!? Did Not Finish? What do you mean!? It’s so stunning and so touching, and uplifting and swoony and naaaaw-worthy and I’m so glad I a) bought this book and b) preordered his upcoming second collection, The Dark Between Stars. Okay confession: I accidentally pre-ordered two copies of The Dark Between Stars. Apparently, I pre-ordered one when I bought Love Her Wild, but I had completely forgotten so about 2 weeks later I went and pre-ordered it…and only afterwards did I see I had already done that. Oops. Luckily, I’m giving one to a friend for her birthday.

From Twinkle With Love was another lovely story from Menon, and ohmygosh War Storm. Review coming soon! Smoke in the Sun is another great book from Ahdieh, and I’m about halfway through it.

Shows

Finally finished Dynasty Season 1, The Mindy Project Season 4 and started watching Season 2 of Killjoys (all those are on Netflix ANZ). I laughed my head off watching the entire first season of Trial and Error, and if you haven’t seen this show then I highly recommend it. New Zealand, it’s on TV NZ On Demand at the moment. Season 2 has just begun, and they’re updating On Demand each week as it is released in the USA. Get on it, guys. So good.

I tried out a few pilots this month, too, including Alias Grace, and The Alienest. I don’t know if I’ll continue with The Alienest, but will definitely keep watching Alias Grace.

This is month I also started and finished both seasons of Queer Eye. I realise it’s taken a while for me to jump on that bandwagon, and I’m so annoyed that I didn’t watch it sooner. Having sad that, it was brilliant and an emotional roller coaster binge-watching 2 whole seasons of goodness. You guys, my heart.

Next Month…

Books – I am expecting a review copy of An Absolutely Remarkable Thing, by Hank Green, from my lovely friends at Hachette NZ, and I’m so looking forward to read that! Other titles on the list this month hope to be: Grace and Fury, by Tracy Banghart (also from Hachette NZ), Sea Witch, by Sarah Henning (from Harper Collins NZ), and I really want to read the second Caraval book, Legendary, by Stephanie Garber.

Movies – It’s always a miracle if I catch even one movie. I really need to watch The Incredibles 2 (I know, I know. Get a move on, Anjali), and there are a couple that have come out this year that I still haven’t seen yet, either. Maybe I can get onto that.

Shows – Hoping to finish off Killjoys Season 2, and Season 5 Mindy Project. I’m sure there will be others though!
