All the books in this haul I received/bought when we were up north for Christmas. Three were Christmas presents, and then 3 were ones that I found in a opshop in Russell (score!). So while I went on holiday with 5 books (four of which I read), I came back with 11. Pretty solid book adventure, I think! In this haul, though, there’s a cook book too, so that’s something new!

Murder on the Orient Express, by Agatha Christie
Good ol’, Agatha. I love her stories, especially her Poirot ones, and while I have read this one, I saw it at the opshop and couldn’t stop myself. I have been wanting to read (or re-read) some more of Christie’s, so that was a fun find.

Holes, by Louis Sachar
We read this book as a class in year 12. Either the teacher read a chapter a day, or he got one of us students to read aloud a chapter. I remember loving the book so much (which didn’t really happen that much in school), and to this day it’s still one of my favourites. I’m looking forward to re-reading this!

The Little Prince, by Antoine de Saint-Exupery
I can’t believe I’d gone 24 years without reading this gem of a book. My lovely friend bought it for me for Christmas (which I wasn’t allowed to open until it was actually Christmas day, even though she gave it to me a week before), and one Sunday I sat down and read it in one sitting (not that it’s very long). It was a beautiful little story.

Perfect Match, by Jodi Picoult
Another opshop find. I’ve taken to writing down exactly which books of Picoult I actually have, because I think I nearly have all of them. Thankfully I didn’t have this one.

Leaving Time, by Jodi Picoult
This is Picoult’s latest book, and my wonderful grandparents got it for me for Christmas. Woop!

Everyday Delicious, by Chelsea Winter
And this is the cook book! I love it; it’s so pretty and the recipes are yummy and easy to make. You can check out her website for some great recipes and tips too. This was a present from my parents for Christmas.

Read any of these? What did you think?
