Easter Saturday 2014, saw us taking a short road trip up into Northland to a place called Langs Beach.

Some of my extended family and some of their friends had rented a batch (a Kiwi word for like a holiday beach house) and invited us to join them for all of Saturday. It was really lovely, and we spent the lovely warm sunny day down at the beach. It was really strange though because when we were there there was pink…stuff…all over the beach! We thought it was algae and that it must just be there all the time, but apparently, it wasn’t always there and it was just stuff from the bottom of the ocean that had been thrown up on the beach in the storm we had a few days earlier. None of the locals really knew what it was, but it made the beach look incredibly colourful.

Here are some photos from our trip up to Langs Beach.

We were blessed with a beautiful day, as Friday had been cloudy and a bit chilly, and Sunday it just rained all day. We got coffee from Zippy’s Cafe, and then later on my sister and I also bought frozen yoghurt from the same place. Delicious! I hope you all had an amazing Easter weekend, too.

Have you been to Langs Beach?
