Don’t Panic! You’re not in the wrong place! If you were looking for From L&P to English Tea, then you have actually found it!
As you can see, the blog has had a make-over and a name change. It’s going through a mid-life crisis to say the least. So what’s going on? you ask. Let me explain.
The Story of This Splendid Shambles
I’ve had From L&P to English Tea for a solid 5 years. I’ve been blogging in some shape or form since about 2008, and when I moved over to England in 2011 I had started From L&P to English Tea as a way for my friends and family back home to keep up with what I was doing. I returned home after two fantastic years, and have continued blogging.
However, the name of the blog had become redundant, and though I had tried to soften it’s craziness by adding ‘and back again’ to the bottom of the header, it wasn’t really quite the same. I needed something that was going to be able to remain the same, no matter where I was in the world, or what I was doing. The name needed to – ‘cuse the pun – travel well.

I had started This Splendid Shambles 1.0 (through Blogger) on a bit of a whim, thinking I was going to be able to manage two blogs at once, each focusing on different things. I couldn’t. So sat This Splendid Shambles 1.0, and it really was a splendid shambles. A blog that needed more love than I could give it. After about 4 months of having it, it sort of fizzled and died. The posts remained there, but I wasn’t adding anything to them.
And then we come back to From L&P to English Tea. A blog I loved with all my bloggy heart, a blog that had literally been around the world with me, had allowed me to make friends with other bloggers, and grow my confidence in my writing, my photography, my sharing and my story telling. But at the back of mind for so long, the thought niggled away at me – it wasn’t really what I wanted, nor where I saw the future of blog heading.

It was almost like I created This Splendid Shambles 1.0 for this reason, not that I knew it at the time. Here was this blog name, this title and content that summed up my life – a wonderful crazy mess of everything – sitting empty, and here was From L&P to English Tea, so full it was bursting.
And so From L&P to English Tea hooked up with This Splendid Shambles 1.0 to create This Splendid Shambles 2.0, which is what you’re reading this very moment. Naw. It was like it was meant to be.
So what now?
Now I continue to do what I love – blogging. Of course I’m sad to say goodbye to From L&P to English Tea (although you’ll see it around the place on image watermarks and Pins on Pinterest I’m sure), but I’m excited about This Splendid Shambles (2.0) and where it takes me.
I hope you’ll join me in this adventure.
Please bear in mind…
…that I am still working out the cinks in the new look and apparenly moving from Blogger to WordPress and moving to self-hosted is a mission. I’m still reformatting some of the posts, updating others, and generally tidying up after this explosion of excitement. I’ve been way too excited, though, to wait any longer, so please bear with me as I continue to fix things here and there. Hopefully not too much will change, but be aware that there may be some tweaks along the way.

I want to say a huge thank-you to my Mum, to the Queen, and to my high school Art teacher all of you lovely people who have stuck with me through my hemisphere jumps and all the crazy that happens here. I hope that we can continue to adventure together, and see where This Splendid Shambles really takes us.
