What is Lore Olympus Vol 3 by Rachel Smythe about?

Lore Olympus Vol 3 by Rachel Smythe continues the Webtoon phenomenon that is Lore Olympus. It tells the story of Persephone and her adventures in the underworld, and a certain god of the dead.

The relationship between Hades, the god of the Dead, and Persephone, the daughter of Demeter, is a topic of much discussion among the gods of Olympus and the Underworld.

Despite rumours of romance, both Hades and Persephone have their own struggles going on, let alone dealing with chatty gods, demi-gods and spirits. Since arriving in Olympus, Persephone has struggled to live up to the expectations of being a perfect maiden goddess and her feelings for Hades have only added to this burden.

In the last book, Persephone is assaulted by Apollo, which has left her struggling with her mental well-being and emotions. Meanwhile, Hades is dealing with his own past, falling back into unhealthy behaviours with Minthe. Both Hades and Persephone try to resist their attraction to each other, but the pull between them proves too strong to ignore, leading them to believe it’s their fate.

Vol 3 contains episodes 50 – 75 of the webcomic.

My thoughts on Lore Olympus Vol 3

Rachel Smythe does it again. I’ve said in other reviews (for Volume 1 and Volume 2) that I did actually discover it in about 2019 and read a lot of it, but I was unable to keep up with the author’s steady release schedule. She’s a machine! When I heard that the comic was being published in book form, I realised this was my opportunity to reread what I had already read and finally catch up with the current story.

And I’m so glad I did, because I am LOVING this series. I so prefer to have a physical copy of a graphic novel than a digital one, so I will keep buying these as they come out (and they look 🔥 on my shelf altogether!).
