So here’s how it works: You can choose how long you want to receive it for (month by month basis, 3 months, 6 months, 12months), and the longer you sign up for, the cheaper it gets. I went with the 1 month option, because I’m just seeing what it was like. It was $18.90 USD, but with free worldwide shipping (hazaa!). The month by month option does just tick over to the next month, so remember to cancel subscription (super easy to do) if you don’t want it again.
In the box comes “10-12 handpicked Kawaii items”. The word ‘Kawaii’ means ‘cute’ in Japanese, you literally get 10-12 cute items in your box. These could be anything from nick-nacks, to stationery, to accessories, all from Japan and Korea. So you wanna know what was in the box right? Here we go then!

The quality of the items is pretty good, though there were a few threads coming un-stitched on the apple key chain, and the nail clippers didn’t quite seem to sit all that wonderfully when shut. But all in all it was good – nothing was broken on the trip down here, and everything I will use (thought the apple thing might go to my younger sister). I especially like the stickers, and will add them my scrapbooking boxes. Everything is very cute, which is what the whole point of the box is, so that’s a definite positive. Here’s a bit more of a break down of the items:

I subscribed to this box near the end of March, but I got in just in time for the March box. They say that they package and ship around the 20th of every month, and I got the email saying it had been dispatched on the 24th. So it took about 3 weeks to get. Now, from Japan, which isn’t that far away from New Zealand (in relation to the rest of the world and NZ), that’s quite a long time. However, I’m used to that, so it was to be expected really.

The price, I think, is a little high for what they are (and considering how little I’m sure everything costs to make), but I suspect that’s because of the free shipping. So would I get it again? I’ve cancelled my subscription (easily done, and easily renewed too), so I won’t be getting it constantly, but I might use it again in the future for little gifts or surprise someone with a box of cuteness.
I’ve received a couple more subscription boxes, so look out for those unboxings soon!
Have you ever got a Kawaii box? What did you think?
Remember you can still sign up here to receive this month’s Newsletter, which will be sent out tonight at 8pm (NZ time).
Disclaimer: I purchased this subscription box on my own accord, and all opinions and thoughts are my own.
